2022 Youth Summer Reading

Congratulations to our readers for making the 2022 Youth Summer Reading Program a huge success!  Our 8 week program began May 31 and ended on July 23.  115 readers participated in our program this year.  The readers were very busy reading, completing Craft To Go Kits, and attending lots of summer reading events and summer programs.

Our Summer Reading Camp programs on Thursdays @ 4:00 have included making boats, learning about ocean currents & the different levels of the ocean, making ocean scenes, making beach bags, decorating sea shells, learning about pirates, and of course ocean animals.

Our Thursday night special events have been lots of fun too!  They included Summer Reading Kick-Off Event, Hoots to Howls Presentation, Scuba Diving 101, Tippecanoe River State Park Event, Cookies & Canvas, a Beach Party, an Ice Cream Social, and our End of Summer Reading Celebration. Thank-you to all of those that contributed to these special events.

Many prizes were given this summer including Weekly Prizes won by Rosalee Eastwood, Eli Thomas, Elijah Vavrecan, Cheyenne Price, Reuben Helt, Greyson Brockus, Ava Holloway, & Hadley White.  June & July Prize winners were Violet Flickinger, E J Green, JoJo Flickinger, & Briton Brockus.  They won Lafayette Aviators game tickets, Indy 11 game tickets, and Isis Theater coupons.  Special prize winners were Sam White, who won a signed Indianapolis Colts football, and Connor Bowens, who won a signed Pacemates picture & a Pacers t-shirt.  Our Ocean Scene Contest winners were Molly Couch, Carson Bennett, & Alijah Baker.  Summer Reading Prize winners: Ages 0-6  Lyra Thomas, Ezekiel Helt, & Lavin Holloway; Ages 7-11  Paislee Brockus, Zachary Bates, & Lily Cavendar;  Ages 12-18  Amos Green, Seanna Gudas, & Emmy Rude.
