2021 “Tails & Tales” Summer Reading Program @ Kewanna-Union Township Public Library

Congratulations to our readers for making the Summer Reading Program a huge success!  Our 8 week program began June 1 and ended on July 24.  132 readers participated in our program this year.  The readers were very busy reading, completing Craft To Go Kits, and attending lots of summer reading events and summer programs.

Our special Summer Reading Events were a Summer Reading Kick-Off, Peaceable Primate Sanctuary Event, Cookies & Canvas, Tippecanoe River State Park Event, Petting Zoo, Kewanna Fire Department Safety Program, Rochester Martial Arts Demonstration, a Stuffed Animal Sleepover & Tea, and End of Summer Reading Celebration.  Thank-you to all of those that contributed to these special events.

Many prizes were given this summer including Weekly Prizes, Art Bag Contest Prizes, and Indiana State Park Passes.

We ended “Tales & Tales” with our Summer Reading Celebration on Thursday, July 29th.  Over 60 people participated in this special event.  We had face painting by Teresa Flickinger and Emmy Rude, free give aways, door prizes, and cold ice cream!  Summer Reading Certificates were given to those who participated in our Summer Reading Program.  Special Prize winners were also announced.  Everyone had a good time and left with big smiles!

We would also like to thank everyone involved in making our 2021 Summer Reading Program so successful: parents, library staff, teachers, community members, our event guest speakers and facilitators, and of course our summer readers. We couldn’t have done it without you!  Have a great summer & keep reading!
