Congratulations to our readers for making our summer reading program a big success! Our 8 week program began on May 29th and ended on July 23rd. 67 readers participated in our program this year. The readers were very busy reading and earned almost 9000 points during the summer. The Most Points Prize winners were: Ages 0-6 Zachary & Zoey Bates; Ages 7-11 Josiah Helt; Ages 12-18 Ethan Arnett. Josiah Helt also received a Super Reader Award for earning 820 pts. this summer. Grand Prize entries were received for attending summer programs and for checking out books. The Grand Prize winners were: Ages 0-6 Cash Hessler; Ages 7-11 Violet Flickinger; Ages 12-18 Emmy Aram. The June drawing prize winner was Austin Field. He won reserved seat tickets to an Indy Eleven game. The July drawing prize winner was Jordon Bain, and his prize was reserved seat tickets to an Indianapolis Indians game.
We ended Libraries Rock! with our Summer Reading Celebration on Thursday, July 26th. Over 70 people participated in this special event. We had face painting by Teresa Flickinger, sno-cones by Verl Kreamer, good food, free give aways, and lots of fun! Summer Reading Completion Certificates were given to all finishers for their hard work. The special prize winners were announced and were awarded their prizes. Many door prizes were also given out to those in attendance. Everyone had a good time at the Summer Reading Celebration and left with big smiles!
