On Your Mark, Get Set, READ! 2016 @ KUTPL was incredible!

Congratulations readers for making our summer reading program a big success!  Our 8 week program began on May 31th and ended on July 25th.   86 readers participated in our program this year.  The readers were very busy reading and earned almost 7000 points during the summer.   The Most Points Prize winners were: Ages 0-7 Reuben Helt; Ages 8-12 Josiah Helt; Ages 13-19 Ava Green.  Grand Prize entries were received for attending summer programs and for checking out books.  The Grand Prize winners were:  Ages 0-7 Aiden Bauman; Ages 8-12 Kaitlynn Shidler; Ages 13-19 Blaize Sauer.  The June drawing prize winner was Alyssa Shidler.  She won 4 free tickets to an Indianapolis Indians game.  The July drawing prize winner was Alexie Vawter, and she won 4 free tickets to a South Bend Cubs game.

We ended On Your Mark, Get Set, READ! with our Summer Reading Celebration on Thursday, July 28th.  Almost 100 people stopped in for this special event.  We had face painting by Lindsey Kozubik, sno-cones by Verl Kreamer, good food, free give aways, free books, and lots of fun! Summer Reading Completion Certificates were given to all finishers for their hard work.  The special prize winners were announced, and winners were awarded their prizes.  Many door prizes were also given out to those in attendance.  Everyone had a good time at the Summer Reading Celebration and left with big smiles!

We would like to thank the following sponsors for their generous donations: Applebee’s, Big R, Burger King, Casey’s, Community State Bank, Country Lanes, Dairy Queen, Ft.
