2025 “Color Our World” Youth Summer Reading Program at Kewanna-Union Township Public Library
Congratulations to our readers for making the 2025 Youth Summer Reading Program a huge success! Our 8 week program began May 27 and ended on July 19. 105 readers participated in our program this year. The readers were very busy reading, completing Craft To Go Kits, and attending lots of summer reading events and summer programs.
Our Summer Reading Camp programs and special events on Thursdays included all kinds of colorful activities.
Our library also had booths at the Pulaski County 4-H Fair and the Fulton County 4-H Fair. We had a great time seeing our patrons and meeting lots of new people. Many people stopped to play games, win prizes, and get free books.
Thank you to the Rochester Community School Food Service Department for furnishing delicious, hot lunches during the summer for our youth.
Many prizes were given this summer including Weekly Prizes won by Ben McKinney, David Ritter, Greyson Brockus, Penelope Minix, Opal Martindale, Lillianna Mann, Amelia Smith, and Kira Bradley.
The Build An Animal Contest was won by Emma Bennett, Carson Bennett, and Amelia Smith.
June & July Prize winners were Briton Brochus, Neilah Davis, Kai Miller, Dash Young, Jameson Minix, and Zoey Bates.
Summer Reading Prize winners: Ages 0-6 Riley Bennett, Jasper Martindale, & Atom Miller; Ages 7-11 Ollie Calabrese, Xena Weaver, & Sam White; Ages 12-18 Zachary Bates, Haylee Martindale, & Rosalee Eastwood.
We ended “Color Our World” with our Summer Reading Celebration on Thursday, July 24th! Summer Reading Certificates were given to those who participated in our Summer Reading Program. Special Prize winners were also announced. Everyone had a good time and left with big smiles!
